Day Twenty – Snow!

First Snowfall
Yay! Snow! Today was the first snowfall of the season. I love snow. I took this picture as a was walking to work with the snow falling around me – it only snowed for a few hours and it didn’t stick but it was enough to brighten my day.

Tuesday is dedicated to “reading, listening, surfing and watching” so here we go…
Reading: Right now I am reading Them by Nathan McCall. The story is interesting but I am not sure I like the writing. The blurb promises that the book “…captures the dynamics of class and race in today’s urban integrated communities.” The story deals with gentrification, displacement and culture clashes in changing neighborhoods but it is told through the eyes of fictional characters who live a specific neighborhood in Atlanta. It asks “Who is ‘them’ and what does it mean to be ‘them’?” It connects to Lowell and the work that I do, giving me a lot to think about.

Listening: I am loving both Jens Lekman and The Bird and the Bee right now! Also, the new Mary J. Blige single, Just Fine.

Surfing: I recently discovered the podcast Stash and Burn and I am hooked!

Watching: I love Gossip Girl. It is my ultimate guilty pleasure and I am a little disappointed that it is not on tomorrow!

  1. I missed the snow! My first full day back in Boston was grey and dreary, and it’s been cold ever since.
