Hi my name is Marianne Gries, welcome to Art is the Handmaid of Human Good.
I am a thirtysomething amateur. Amateur what? Cook, photographer, knitter, home-economist, yogi, and writer. I live north of Boston in Lowell, MA.
I am currently unemployed employed, but a fan of frugality after my eight month stint as one of the casualties of the "great recession," and I've been chronicling my adventures cooking and eating on a budget - you can read more about how and why I'm doing that here.
