Today Henrietta and I were busy and all over the place.
It was a beautiful, if chillier than I first thought, day and we saw lots of other bike commuters out and about.
I rode behind this older gentleman for most of my way back to work after walking the dogs. He was riding a vintage Fuji roadbike and kept a completely steady pace the entire time I was with him. I am not so good at keeping my pace steady, so I was a bit jealous.
By the time I got downtown, I saw this hipster kid on a fixie. He was bombing through downtown, riding like a crazy messenger. I guess Lowell’s bike culture has arrived
And then there’s me and my Henrietta.
I ended up leaving Henrietta parked in the parking garage overnight because Gist and I left downtown later than we thought we would. The brisk headwind and my lack of jacket made driving home together very appealing!
We were downtown late for session two of the Homebuyer Class. It was much more fun and helpful to have Gist there, and we’re both really enjoying the class and getting a lot out of it. I can’t remember the last time I have felt so empowered and terrified at the same time.
