Well, winter is back – it is sunny, windy and 35ish. The high today is 41.
What a busy week it has been!
Last weekend was really nice. Saturday was (as promised) sunny and 60 so Gist and I played outside before heading to CT. We had breakfast at Brew’d Awakenings and then we took a long walk through Lowell. The main purpose of the walk (though of course we got sidetracked) was to ‘time’ (because I am a dork) how far it is and how long it would take me to walk to work using the riverway. It is about a mile and a half and should take about a half hour depending on how quickly I walk. We also checked out the University Avenue bridge and walked down Merrimack Street. It was a lovely way to spend a morning.
Then we headed off to Connecticut. We had a delicious dinner at the Shay Retreat – cookout food, yum! Then Nance, Gist and I headed off to the Bean for the show. The show was great except for one small disruption – Keegan, the fiddler’s three year old son. Keegan was cranky and overtired and his father wasn’t paying attention to him and he acted like a brat throughout the entire evening. But enough about that. The show and the band were great. I really like bluegrass music and they play really well together so it was a lot of fun. Other than Keegan, it was a perfect evening.
On Sunday we went to The Wooden Spoon for breakfast (yum!) and then Gist and I headed home to putz around. All in all it was a perfect weekend.
Monday was MACDC Lobby Day which was fun. Tuesday and yesterday I finished up the GLCF proposal and today I have to create a ‘technology vision statement.’ I am also getting ready for my trip to Dallas in April.
This coming weekend Gist has a lot of meetings but we’re going to see V for Vendetta at Chunky’s and have Sunday brunch at the DoubleTree. I hope it is warm because i am ready for Spring!
