Art is the Handmaid of Human Good

Life in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA

This second room, a combination of guest room, craft room, office, and dressing room has been a bit of a struggle since we’ve moved in. Our apartment is much smaller than the two we had in San Francisco and we also have a lot more stuff here. After three or four crowded iteration I think we’re finally making some progress:
Day 144 - Sunday, March 11th 2007
Gist and I switched closets on Saturday and went to Home Goods, Pier 1 and Target to try to find a new yarn storage system. Switching closets is going to make a big difference, I think. Most of the time my clothes lived on the futon and now that I have a bigger closet I don’t think that will be an issue anymore.

I really like the new yarn bookcase. I thik it keeps the yarn neat-ish and looks nice to boot – yay! The bookcase holds loose skeins and the little bin holds works-in-progress. The only part of the room that still needs work is the desk. Once that’s done, it’ll be on to the bedroom…

All in all it was a productive weekend – maybe some day (probably right before we’re ready to move) this place will be exactly the way I want it!
