Day Fifteen – Thursday Favorites – Indian Pudding!

Day 6 - Wednesday, October 25th 2006
A fall-themed picture because Indian Pudding just says “fall!”

While blog-surfing today I came across Simply Recipes’s post on Indian Pudding. Man, I love Indian Pudding. It is a traditional New England recipe and it just is so warm and creamy and spicy and maple-y – basically totally yummy! When Gist and I lived in San Fran Indian Pudding was always my go-to potluck dist: most people had no idea of what it was but everyone always loved it.

Most traditional recipes use molasses or brown sugar to sweeten it but I use a combination of Grade B maple syrup (my favorite) and molasses. If I had any type of written recipe I would share it here but I cook by feel (I know, that’s kind of lame) and so everything would be “some cornmeal, some syrup, etc.”

Anyway, Indian Pudding is great! If you haven’t tried it, do so now!

P.S. Happy birthday Bob & Kate!
