Baby on the way…

I know, I know – I am a terrible blogger – does anyone even look at this thing anymore? What is the occasion of breaking my long silence? A baby, of course! Not mine, Erica’s and John’s. Erica is a very good friend of Gist’s and she’s had a very difficult time getting pregnant and, when she did and it stuck, a equally difficult first pregnancy. She asked Gist to be with her for the birth to hold her hand and give some moral support to both the mom- and dad-to-be and we’ve both been anxiously awaiting the call for the past few weeks. Well, today at 4:00am it came. Erica’s contractions had started and she was heading over to the hospital. She was admitted shortly after 6:00am and Gist headed down to the hospital right about then. A new life is coming into the world today (we hope, first borns seem to be known for their long labor times) if you see this today please think good, safe, welcome-to-the world thoughts for the little one and his/her (it’s going to be a surprise) family.
