And it’s finally here! We got an ice storm last Friday, plowable snow today and six inches of snow are forecasted for this Friday! I know this is an unpopular opinion but I just love a good winter storm, they make everything so pretty. See…
Friday’s Ice
That second shot I got thanks to our building’s maintenance man. As I was outside taking pictures in the parking lot, he asked me if I wanted to go up to a top-floor balcony. The view from up there? Amazing!
Those were all taken this morning between 7:00 and 8:30. See, I am one of those people who can’t sleep if it’s snowing – it’s just too exciting! I jumped out of bed at 6:30 rarin’ to go. My early morning walk was so lovely – calm, peaceful and snowy – for most of it, I was the only person out walking.
Because I’m not working, I was able to enjoy a snowy day as it is meant to be enjoyed. I headed home from my walk and had some porridge for breakfast. Then I showered and put on my comfy clothes and settled in to knit. It was lovely. I also put together a minestrone soup in the crock pot. It’s been simmering all day and it smells delicious! I can’t wait to dig in!
I did venture out this afternoon to pick up the last CSA share of the year. I cleaned my car this morning before my walk but by the time I was ready to go and pick up my veggies, it was covered with a solid sheet of ice. Here it is, my last share:
I’ll miss you veggies *sniff* I really enjoyed having the CSA share – I loved getting all of the yummy fresh veggies, supporting local farmers and challenging myself as a cook.
Well, my soup’s just about finished (YAY!) and Christmas knitting and The Tudors are calling my name…

I feel the same way; I love snowy weather! We’re supposed to get 8+ inches tomorrow night/Friday, and then more on Saturday. Yikes!

Beautiful photos of the ice! We only got rain with that storm. I didn’t even know about the ice. Parts of Worcester still don’t have electricity, from what I hear. Today’s storm will be RI’s first real snow since Feb/March. I hate snow. I hate winter, but I love being able to get great shots like you did.
