Bread Machine Cornmeal-Sesame Bread

Cornmeal-Sesame Bread

I love bread! This is an easy and delicious (and it looks much fancier than it is) bread-machine recipe!

Add the following ingredients to your bread machine and prepare using the dough cycle:

  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1½ teaspoon bread-machine yeast

Once the dough is finished, remove it from your machine and shape it into a round loaf.  Pat sesame seeds all over the top and let it rise again until it’s doubled in size (1- 2 hours).  I used the same baking technique as the No-Knead Bread – I preheated my cast iron dutch oven at 400F, added the dough (carefully), baked it for 15 minutes with the cover on and finished it off, 15 – 30 minutes, with the cover off.

It was extra-delicious toasted and slathered with butter and Flickr-friend Lee’s amazing preserves!
