Finally! YAY!
This week we got:
- Pea Tendrils
- Chinese Broccoli
- Swiss Chard
- Lettuce
- Garlic Scapes
- Radishes
- Mint (which I left in the swop box, my mint plant is double-OC)
- Strawberries
- And of course I picked up some milk at the dairy!
This year, for the first time, World Peas is offering a small share which is what we signed up for. This filled up the small (1/2 bushel) box pretty well, so I am interested to see what our yield is as the season progresses.
I was so excited to come home tonight and make supper! I used some veggies and kept it simple. I roughly chopped the pea tendrils and Chinese broccoli…
Sautéed some garlic and red pepper flakes…
Zested a lemon…
Added the greens and lemon zest to the garlic and pepper flakes…
Sautéed them and added some pasta-cooking water and lemon juice…
And tossed with pasta and cheese…
YUM, Simple and delicious! I am really looking forward to a tasty season.

I’m still too chicken to opt in to the CSA, I’m still at junior farmer’s market level. But I will follow your blog posts and see what you cook and maybe next year we’ll try that small share too 🙂

The joy and challenge of the CSA is not knowing what you’ll get every week. I love it, but I know it could be hard for some.

This was a great recipe! We got collard greens instead of chinese broccoli, and it works great that way too. Delicious. Thanks for the recipe
